Pastor Lela May Gardner-Warner, 69, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 12, 1948, in Plattsburg, Missouri, daughter of the late Lillie and Idris “Rex” Gardner.

She graduated from South Park Christian and Ambassadors Bible College. She married Dale Warner on January 5, 1999, and he survives of the Home.

She was the Pastor with her husband Dale at the Ambassadors of Faith Christian Center, she also was the Dean of the Ambassadors of Faith College and Seminary.

She loved to brag about her grandchildren, camping with her family, singing in church, making quilts, sewing, and watching the Dallas Cowboy football. She loved her family and her church family.

Lela was preceded in death by her parents; son, James T. Young; brothers, Roy and James Sonny Gardner; a sister, Levina Gardner; and great-grandson, Karsyn Nathaniel Young.

Survivors include husband, Dale W. Warner of the home; children, Michael (Robin) Young, Shannon (Rodney) Senicerios of St. Joseph, Tonya Young, Great Bend, Kansas and John Warner, St. Joseph; a brother, Charles (Anna May) Gardner, Plattsburg; sisters, Helen (Sonny) Perman, St. Joseph, Rose (John) Utter, Raytown, Missouri and Doris Ferguson, Liberty, Missouri; sister-in-law, Betty Gardner, Richmond, Missouri; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; loving caregiver and former husband, Herschel Davenport; and her baby puppy, Bubbles.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at Rupp Funeral Home, with Rev. Beau Walker officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, at the Rupp Funeral Home.

The Interment will be at the Ebenezer Cemetery.
